Common Questions, Interesting Info

How much does it cost to go through the drive-thru nativity?
Admission is three (3) cans of food. Reservations are required. We base reservations on the number of VEHICLES in your party. Please print or save your reservation information to show our Roman guards.

A donation box is available at the end of the journey for those who wish to give. You may also donate here.

A prayer tent is also available at the end of your journey! We would be glad to pray for you.

How do I make reservations?
Please click here to make your reservation. Please note: reservations are based on how many VEHICLES are in your party.

What can I expect?
Travelers will walk through our bustling village, interacting with the townspeople of the marketplace and learning from the town tradesmen and women. Children especially love seeing the live sheep, camels, goats, donkeys, horses and more in the village and at the Nativity. You might even spot the three Wise Men as they carry their gifts in search of the newborn King.
FREE refreshments!
FREE marketplace tasting!
FREE group photograph!

Where should I park?
Please park in our lower guest parking lot. You will see signage directing you where to go. If our regular lot is full, please park at the Ramey-Estep Home parking lot (again, follow signage) and we will shuttle you over using church buses/vans.

What about restroom facilities?
We have indoor restrooms on site.

How long does it take to go through the BlackHorse Bethlehem Experience?
We use reservation times to ensure an effective flow of guest traffic. Please arrive around 15 minutes before your reservation time. If you need to cancel your reservation, please be considerate to other guests and cancel as soon as possible by using the link in your confirmation email. If you do not show up and you do not cancel, other guests on the waiting list may not get the opportunity to attend. Average time spent during the event is 1 hour.

How much do refreshments cost?
Refreshments are free!

Who produces The BlackHorse Bethlehem Experience?
The Adkins family, owners of The BlackHorse Farm, design, direct and produce the experience. It is a ministry that is joyfully prepared as a gift to the community. We work on the event year round!

How many volunteers are involved?
Approximately 150 actors and staff members are involved throughout the event.

How many years has The BlackHorse Bethlehem been going on?
We have offered our experience for four years! Once you make your first pilgrimage, we hope you will find that this journey will become one of your most cherished Christmas traditions!

Things we want to point out: Security will be present. There will be light walking from the drop off area to the Roman soldier's filing line. The Bethlehem marketplace/city will be inside of our 6,000 square foot HEATED arena. :) The live Nativity will be just outside of the arena. You'll be able to see our Nativity animals and, of course, you may walk through our horse barn and see some of our beautiful horses and ponies!

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All children 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We do not have any other age requirements; children and adults, alike, are encouraged to attend!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR TICKET TIME.

Since parking is limited, we also arrange for shuttle buses. Guests should park at Ramey-Estep Home, 2901 Pigeon Roost Rd, Rush, KY 41168. Parking space is limited, so please have your party drive as few vehicles as possible to the Ramey-Estep parking lot.  Shuttle vans will run from the Ramey-Estep parking lot to the event and back for the entire duration of the event.

BECAUSE OF CERTAIN INSURANCE POLICIES, YOU MUST LOCK YOUR VEHICLE AND BRING YOUR KEYS WITH YOU.

Handicap DROP OFF is available for vehicle passengers. If the driver of the vehicle is handicap, you must let us know on the registration/reservation form so that we may accommodate. Handicap parking is limited; we will try our best to accommodate.

Bring your tax payment of THREE CANS OF FOOD  PER PERSON. We are also accepting cash and monetary donations this year, to benefit the mission.

You may bring a camera and/or cell phone, if you'd like! Please, no flash photography. You may want to leave any carry items at home, so that you can experience the event in the best way possible! Please leave all other items in your vehicle. Security will be present and guests will be under surveillance.  No firearms or other illegal items permitted. We reserve the right to dismiss guests who seem unruly, disorderly, aggressive, etc.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please text or email for a quick response. Text Jessica at 606.922.4853 or email theblackhorsefarm@yahoo.com

Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

Please have your printed ticket (one per vehicle) or digital ticket ready to show our Roman guards. Tickets should be downloaded and a screen shot shown, as we do not provide Wi-Fi for all guests.

Can I update my registration information?

If your party changes, you will need to update the information  or else your party may be split up.

Is my main registration fee or ticket transferrable?

If you have someone you'd like to transfer your ticket to, you MUST transfer at least 72 hours before the event date/time. Do this by modifying your ticket information using the email link.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Nope! Your ticket should match the name of the person in charge of the reservation. Waivers must be signed during the security check at the farm, so it's mandatory that we know who is at the event. Don't blame us; it's the Roman soldier's rule.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and accordingly to weather. We are an authentic, working horse farm. You will be walking in our barn shavings and some gravel. Wear comfortable shoes or boots that may get a bit dirty!

How do I get to the farm?
Please click on directions and make sure to get everything printed or saved in case you don't have phone service.
